My name is Joanna Kaminska-Wujek and I work under the name of JOKAMIN. I am self-thought illustrator/artist. My work has been a spiritual journey that brought me from Poland through New York to Ireland.
My style is naive, authentic and gives me an edge in my art. In my illustrations I picture often daily scenes, conversations overheard, situations seen; everything could be a starting point for an illustration: somebody’s facial expression, a title in the newspaper, a gesture or a particular song. Basically I create what I feel is true for me and what my intuition tells me. My work is inspired by authenticity, realness, identity, beauty, people and life generally.
My illustrations are often quirky and sometimes nostalgic. I picture moods and beauty and like Henrie Cartier-Bresson I try to capture “the decisive moment”. I am a good observer and enjoy illustrating life. Knowing that at times my art heals souls or makes people laugh is very important to me and makes me happy. Contact Joanna. Tel 085 1332024

Liz O’Connor has worked in IBEC for 30 years and has a degree in Business Studies from UCC and a Diploma in Employment Law. She is now keen to use her experience, and the skills she has acquired over the years, to set up her own HR Service for small business.
The whole area of HR and legal compliance can be a daunting prospect for many small businesses. My business will provide an affordable HR set up and/or check-up so that companies can be confident they are compliant with current employment legislation. This involves the design and/or review of contracts of employment, HR policies, procedures and the provision of a handbook employers can refer to once the HR system has been set up.
I have worked for many years as an educator, group facilitator, and psychotherapist. I enjoy working with people at all stages of development and offering mentoring and education to ease any challenges and to help them to move through life transitions and changes. Greenshoots offers me a chance to develop my work in new directions and create new avenues through which to offer my services.
The global demand for water is set to rise by 40% over the next 20 years; the need for massive capital investment in end of life and leaking water infrastructure will drive the cost of supply upward. The levels of water stress such as demand excess and scarcity to densely populated areas is already being felt throughout urban European communities.
SinUisce will target partnering with water supply companies to assist reducing the demand on governments and water utility suppliers by moving water production from the municipal plants to the point of use i.e. the home, the business and the amenity. SinUisce will create in partnership with utility and government organisations, an urban water collection, processing, distribution and reservoir network supplied by domestic municipal water units, sourcing rain water and recycling of targeted onsite water resources. SinUisce understands the demand for sustainable water production and has a unique vision as to how rain water harvesting can resolve this current and escalating problem. SinUisce understands the needs of clients need for domestic municipal water production in the field of rainwater harvesting. Relevant rain water harvesting takes into consideration the needs of transport, installation, consumer safety and the need to produce water that can be used as water is intended to be – Drink – Bath – Discharge from premises.

My Business is in the very early stages of development. I am providing a decluttering and organising service for home and business. This service is tailored for the client to result in a clear/organised space. Often people report that they have lots of items/possessions/clothes that need to be “sorted” in lots of locations i.e. the wardrobe, attic, kitchen cupboards but that they find it overwhelming and don’t know where to start! That’s where I help – I start the job with the client and keep them focused in a non judgmental and objective manner. The end result is a clear space with the client deciding on where objects go. A client recently reported that after I worked with her on clearing her attic space she felt “free without the anxiety of the clutter over her head” she felt released of a huge burden and now is ready for me to work on her wardrobe. Letting someone into your home or business is a very personal experience. I have 20 years experience working in the Health Sector as a Speech and Language Therapist. I feel that my experience working closely with families equips me with the skills I need to provide a personal and private decluttering service. A decluttered space helps to reduce stress and keep focused on work or play and even may help you make money from your unwanted items! Tel 0874186148
Having spent many years working in Retail I gained vast experience in retail widow display and merchandising. Time spent with such companies as Laura Ashley and Blarney Woollen mills has heightened my appreciation of the impact that can be achieved in taking a professional approach to product presentation. In 2000 I went on to launch my own freelance window display service and travelled throughout Ireland to deliver this contract service. I now see the opportunity of using social media as the new means of developing retailers’ websites to become their “on line windows”. This will entail combining website development and social media management.
Irish Craft and Design Business featuring handmade, unique and Irish designed pieces. I make beautiful bunting, cushions, and bespoke homeware crafts. All my materials are sourced and made in Ireland.

She set up her design business (DMdesign) in 2007 and continues successfully to work with businesses in the Munster area developing their brand identities. Encouraged by family and friends to share her talent, in 2013 Siobhán decided to open the doors to her passion and share it with those that also have a love for animals and the Irish countryside. Based near the Gearagh, in the beautiful Lee Valley of Co. Cork, Siobhán paints in oil and watercolor from her little cottage in the heart of the countryside. Her limited edition archival prints are numbered and signed and come with a certificate of authenticity. Siobhán’s love for animals and their true character is apparent in all of her paintings. Alan Taylor IT Consulting
Alan has been trading since 2010, providing ICT support, consulting and web development services to small businesses and organisations in Ireland. For the past two years he has been investigating and implementing Cloud Computing for small business and has become aware that Irish SMEs are slow to adopt this trend.
With a view to the significant potential for minimising costs and increasing efficiency that this technology holds for small business in particular, Alan is developing and testing a simple to understand and easy to deploy package of existing applications to provide emerging firms with all the functions they need from accounts and customer relations management to image editing and backup solutions.
The bottom line is that a start-up entrepreneur can set up his entire infrastructure with his own domain name, email server, shared calendars, online storage and backups for less than the cost of a new laptop. This is not a limitation to growth, as the cloud allows for almost unlimited expansion and is now utilised by many leading companies.
Alan Taylor’s role lies in helping the new business choose, set up and configure the necessary applications and in training the users of the system so that they can quickly and efficiently get the most out of the system once it is in place.

Céad míle fáilte! සාදරයෙන් පිලිගන්නවා ! Welcome!
In 2003 my husband and I were newly-weds ready to share a life of adventure and new experiences. So we leapt at the opportunity to sample life on the other side of the world. We traded our tropical island home for a temperate island dream. For me it has been an odyssey from English language teacher in a girls high-school in Sri Lanka to wife, mother (we now have an Irish-born son) and artist in Ireland.
Being an artist is a gift that I embrace so dearly. Though I had always had a deep love of art it wasn’t until 2004 that I found myself in a position to explore my own ability. The subtle variations and infinite diversity of colour, texture and design that I saw in the Irish landscape produced, in me, an undeniable need to paint.
Watercolour is my preferred medium. Its delicate texture and inimitable flexibility affords me the best possibility of capturing the magical properties of my subjects. As a self-taught artist I have experimented extensively. The techniques that I have developed are unconventional and unique. My most profound inspiration comes from flowers – from my garden, beneath the trees on river banks and beside country roads.
Five years ago I made the decision to paint full-time. Since then I have mounted several successful solo art exhibitions and have participated in numerous art festivals. I have sold several pieces of work to private collections nationally – including a former Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister). Some have made their way to customers overseas. Business experience of running The Living Art Gallery in the heart of Macroom town for over 16 months, gave me the opportunity to meet the customers from local community to visitors from abroad. I have been inspired by their encouragement and support to continue my career. My original paintings of flowers and exciting new collection of Limited Edition Floral Art Prints are sure to leave a lasting joy in the heart and the home of the art lovers.
Rashika Kahapolaarachchi – Artist http://thelivingartgallery.com
After years of experience of collecting antiques, vintage items and collectibles, Dave and his brother Aiden realised that there was a gap in the market for selling all three in one location. They were also conscious that many retailers priced the average person out of this market and wished to open the market up to new customers.
They believe that the experience is a big part of retail and so want to open up a small cafe section within the store to allow customers to enjoy themselves while browsing.
Dave graduated with a Masters in English Literature and minor degree in Psycholgy. He has had over 7 years experience working/managing in retail. Aiden has a Masters in Theology and has managed charities and many large organisations. Visit the workshop on Facebook.
A forty-seven year old mother of two, I led a very varied life and travelled extensively in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa before I “settled down”.
In the ’80′s I obtained a B. SC. from UCD and in the ’90s a H. Dip. in Applied Science from UCC. I’d considered the idea of teaching English as a Second Language in the past as a way of combining my love of English with my love of teaching. So, when I wanted to return to work after a long gap I realised that it was an itch that I had to scratch. I decided to acquire a CELTA cert (from UCC) in 2007 because it was the best qualification I could get to do the job.
Subsequently I became self-employed and managed to get great experience in Cork teaching general English classes at various levels as well as exam preparation for FCE, TOEIC and BEST. However, family circumstances and obligations required me to take a break late in 2010 during which time I realised that I really wanted to start my own school in Macroom and that’s what I’m doing!
The aim of the business is to provide a variety of English language holiday packages: language tuition, exam preparation, home-stays with families, cultural visits and more. These holidays are suited to individuals or groups who would prefer a provincial or rural English language holiday. www.englishadventuresireland.ie/
James has 19 years experience in carpentry and cabinet making having been self employed for 15 years. In 2012 I started to diversify by setting up a new business in the Arts and Crafts sector by using 3D routering. CNC Wood Carving enables you to create individual timber pieces for example sign making, educational toys, wood crafts for all occasions, photographs and much more.
With my husband Jerry O’Sullivan and our children, I live on a farm between Ballingeary – Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh and Inchigeelagh in County Cork, beside the beautiful Lakes of Lú or Lough Allua as it’s named on most maps.
Jerry and I enjoy travelling and we also spent some years living in New York. Most places we have visited abroad that have lakes or rivers also have boat tours. Jerry and I believe that Lough Allua is a great local asset and that people of all ages would enjoy a guided boat tour on Lough Allua.
Thinking of a business is the easy part – actually getting things done and starting a new business is much harder. First we had to get the Marine Survey Office to survey the lakes and to have Lough Allua listed as a navigable waterway; then we became a shipyard and we built the ship and had it passed at all stages by the Department of Transport; Jerry and I had to complete many safety courses and Ship Operator/Captains exams and then we built the pier, landscaped the area and started operations offering guided tours of Lough Allua.
We built a small cottage where visitors could get tourist information and a cup of tea or coffee, etc… We started making our own ceramics after several people asked us if we had any keepsakes/gifts for sale…
Come and visit us at The Lakes Tour and enjoy a guided, scenic experience – ‘Travel the Lee on the Sheila Free’ and keep an eye open for Lú our own Lough Allua Monster! Tel 086 0887861 www.thelakestour.com

Derek attended UCG where he read commerce, before moving to the Isle of Man to take up a position in marine insurance. He returned to Ireland to rear his family and took a position in the technology sector in Ennis, before settling, back to Cork, as a project manager in the construction sector. It was there that the need for “quality and value” in the kayaking market presented itself.
The result being the incorporation of Winner Kayak Ltd on the 11th of August 2010, after building on the back of the previous five years of investment. In those five years, we have designed and created moulds for the European Kayak market. We, then, took the prototypes to the market and awaited feedback. We have modified our prototypes in accordance to our market research and eventually took our finished product to the open market place in 2010. Now, we just have to complete the simple task of getting our products to every available market on the planet. www.winnerkayak.co.uk/

GreenGate Energy Ltd.
The idea was initially generated in 2011 of developing an affordable solar home system for the developing world to dramatically improve the quality of life of individuals in these areas. We soon realized as a new company with a small budget in an ultra competitive environment where the big US, European and Chinese Companies with colossal operating budgets dominate the markets, we needed to find an edge. We went about finding the highest quality affordable solar-lighting systems. We now offer these systems to the Domestic DIY, Camping, Marine and Electrical Wholesale Markets. We are also involved with Concern, and will be donating a Solar Muscle Light to impoverished families in the developing world for every 6 we sell commercially.
Peace of Cake
When her second child was diagnosed with a gluten and wheat intolerance, Katelijne Rouffa found that most widely available gluten free products are pre-packed. With a long shelf life these products often compromise in taste, texture, presentation, choice and quality.
She was determined however to focus on the possibilities, not the limitations of life with a food allergy. Coming from Belgium, where bakeries are the hub of daily and social life, she started experimenting in her kitchen with gluten free baking until these products tasted as good or better than the gluten version. As more people started tasting and requesting her baking, Peace of Cake was born.
Peace of Cake is proud to stand for a ‘no compromise’ home baking business that specializes in fresh gluten and wheat free quality products, from day-to-day treats such as scones and cookies to unique cakes for special occasions. No longer does gluten free mean that you have to compromise or that you or your loved ones need to feel ‘different’.
Peace of mind can be a piece of cake. www.macroomcakes.com

He is establishing a biotechnology research and manufacturing business which will attempt to capture environmental enrichment of national waterways through the aquaculture and harvest of excess seaweeds. This enrichment will be returned in a stable state to the local natural environment after an engineered codigestion and blending system with local waste streams to provide commercial grade liquid fertilizer which is more stable and easily absorbed than commercial chemical fertilizers. The biogas byproducts from the digestion process are then to be reused to provide processing energy, local commercial energy and surplus energy for sale to national users.
The philosophy is to provide sustainable life cycle solutions to environmental enrichment by providing full life cycle services.

A passion for building children’s’ confidence through the use of technology in learning led mother-of two Therese Cronin to set up ComputerXplorers Cork and Kerry. ComputerXplorers runs classes that are inspirational and designed to enhance the learning skills of children of different ages and abilities. ComputerXplorers provide equipment, materials and the teachers so there is nothing for schools to do other than provide the room and the children.

Over the last 5 years I have become more and more involved in open water swimming, starting in 2006 with short ocean swims to longer marathon swims in the last couple of years. Through this I have discovered a need to be able to purchase items that I need ranging from swimwear to nutrition products and more, easily, cost effectively and without lengthy waits on delivery as well as get information on training, technique, nutrition and other services all on the one website.
Jennifer’s business idea is to set up and manage an Irish based website offering such a service, initially starting with swimming based open water activities and eventually branching into to all other open water activities, e.g. kayaking, sailing.
Tina has recently started a new business called B Styled. Her business is image and style coaching. She helps people to feel good on the outside and great on the inside.
Tina set up this business from the success she has had from her home studio shop called Pretty as a Peacock which is based in Peacock Farm, Bengour West, Enniskeane. In her shop she stocks the ladies fashion label Greenhouse and in the autumn will be stocking other ranges including maternity wear.
Tina found while she was selling her range of ladies clothes that ladies were asking for advice on styles etc that suited not only their body shape but styles that suited the stage of life they were at. Tina completed a diploma in Image and Style coaching to enhance this side of the business and she is also a qualified NLP Practitioner. She is available for private consultations and will be running group style classes in September.
She works with ladies and men who would like to enhance their image either for personal reasons or business. She also works at corporate level in the business.
