We are delighted to have iconic Cork business man and close personal friend of her Royal Highness the Queen of England, Mr. Pat O’Connell of K O’Connell Fish Merchants on hand to deliver the key note speech at this year’s Greenshoots Showcase & Awards Ceremony on Thursday 23rd July.

Pat’s contribution is fitting, given that this event aims to celebrate Cork’s newest companies, recently graduated from the Greenshoots Programme at Macroom E Enterprise Centre.

Established in Cork’s English Market in 1962, Kay O’Connell Fish Merchants has earned a great reputation for doing the simple things well. The founder, Kay O’Connell’s commitment to supplying quality fish meant daily trips to Castletownbere on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork, a good three hour drive away from the city centre. Often she took her then two small sons, Pat and Paul, with her to learn how to recognise great quality local fish. Today Pat and Paul, together with their families, continue that commitment to quality and that is why restaurants and the public alike, still come to K O’Connell’s to buy great fish.
